Demographic composition of the village is mixed and contains most of the classes and castes. Almost all categories of people like General, OBC, SC and ST reside in the village. Muslims are also the residents of this village in South Tola and Garhiya. As per Census 2011 Report, out of total population of 9691, Males are 4999 and no. of females are 4692 (Sex Ratio: 939 per thousand male higher than sex ratio of Bihar 918) and the no. of children below 6 years of age was 1669 (Sex Ratio 994). As per Report number of Scheduled Caste persons are 1463 and number of Scheduled Tribe was 2 only. Literacy Rate of the village was 62.86%, (higher than Bihar literacy rate of 61.80%) out of this male literacy rate was 73.07% and female literacy rate is 51.87%.
